Choose Your Words Carefully
Devotion 41, page 117
IT IS SO IMPORTANT to speak life into every aspect of our lives. Our words have power, and when we choose to speak life, we are aligning ourselves with the truth and promises of God. Instead of allowing negativity and doubt to consume us, we can intentionally choose to speak words of encouragement, faith, and positivity.
Speaking life goes beyond just affirmations. It’s about believing in the potential within us and the work that God has called us to do. It’s about declaring blessings, success, and favor over our businesses, careers, and education. When we speak life, we are tapping into the authority and power that God has given us as His children.
At the same time, it’s important to be mindful of the words we speak to ourselves and to our circumstances. Let us not cancel out our prayers and positive affirmations with negative self-talk or doubt. Instead, let us consistently speak life and have faith in the transformational power of our words.
In addition to speaking life, we must be informed and take action. It is essential for us to seek knowledge and understanding, to research and vet the information we receive before taking action and sharing it with others. It is crucial to do our research, then empower ourselves and others with accurate information. This is how we can create awareness and drive positive change.
Let us continue to speak life, believe in the greater things that God has called us to, and be diligent in our pursuit of truth and justice. Together, as we uplift and encourage one another, we can make a difference and bring about the transformation we desire to see in our lives and in the world around us.
On News in Motion, I encouraged the listeners and viewers to join me in “Watching Our Words.” Using the Scripture, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21, KJV), I encouraged that there should not be any negative talk for thirty days. I asked the viewers and listeners to watch what they spoke and to be mindful of what they received during those thirty days.
