Devotion 112, page 300

“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor” (Romans 12:9–10, ESV).

THIS POWERFUL VERSE FROM Romans underscores the significance
of authenticity in our interactions and relationships. Sincerity in our love and affection for one another is a fundamental principle.

To be sincere in love means more than just expressing affection; it means acting on it. We are encouraged to recognize the difference between right and wrong, holding firmly to what is good and steering clear of evil.

A Call to Action

Furthermore, our love should go beyond mere words; it should be evident in our actions. We should treat each other like family, displaying genuine warmth, kindness, and respect. Moreover, the verse encourages us to strive for outdoing one another in showing honor, an inspiring reminder of the beautiful impact that authenticity and sincere love can have on our lives and those around us.
