Fear Not: A Voice for Change

Protests are erupting across America. People are raising their voices. Pushback is happening — at state capitols, outside federal buildings, in churches, and on the streets. Folks are fed up, and rightfully so.

Take a moment and hit rewind. Since January 20, 2025, up until Friday, February 7, 2025, the current president has signed over 50 executive orders — the most any president has issued within their first 100 days in more than 40 years. These orders include:

America First Policy Directive to The Secretary of State

Instructing the Attorney General to not enforce a ban on TikTok

Policy to have the armed forces protect U.S. borders

Declares a national energy emergency and expedites energy projects

Directs federal agencies to use the term “sex,” not “gender,”

Ends all diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility programs, policies and mandates across the federal government, revising union contracts

Revokes security clearances of 51 former intelligence officials

Repeals dozens of Biden-era executive orders, including the task force aimed at reuniting migrant families, orders around COVID and racial/gender equity and climate change, and certain protections for LGBTQ people and asylum policies

Tells government agencies not to issue documents recognizing citizenship to people born to two parents who do not have a lawful permanent residence or citizenship in the United States

…and so much more.

Then we have DOGE stirring up chaos across the board, stripping away consumer protections like those provided by the CFPB.

That’s why we must act. We can start by attending town hall meetings — taking notes, asking questions, and then responding by sharing that information with our communities and calling our members of Congress.

Not long ago, I did a News in Motion segment on town hall meetings, walking viewers step by step through how to show up and make their voices heard. That message is just as relevant today — if not more.

I’ve included a link below to that video teaching, along with a resource where you can grab a copy of the digital materials.

In addition, I wrote INSPIRE: A Call to Action, a book I originally framed as a devotional. But today? I see it as a playbook. I had no idea just how timely it would be for this moment.

On page 381, I write:

“IN JOSHUA 10:25, WE are reminded, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous.” These timeless words resonate deeply, especially in the context of advocating for change, human rights, civic engagement, and speaking up for justice.

The path to transformation often demands that we raise our voices, participate in the democratic process, attend town hall meetings, and advocate for human rights and equality. In these endeavors, fear can be a lurking shadow, discouraging us from taking action.

However, Joshua’s wisdom reminds us [continue to read by downloading or grabbing a copy of the 426 page playbook here]

The time for action is now. Fear not. Our voices matter. Let’s move.
